Roving Chef Maggie Lister from the Charity Vegetarian for Life, invites you for a day of cookery demos and information on easy organic gardening at Hulme Community Garden Centre. Maggie is a vegan chef who works to help improve the lives of older vegetarians and vegans, whilst showing the public and catering staff how to create well balanced, nutritional plant-based dishes.
If you’re struggling to find inspiration for healthy, cheap but nutricious meals then book a place on one of two workshops held on Friday 28th May and 5th April.
The day will include a hands-on group cookery session where you’ll learn basics and more of plant-based food; Cooking for One, Cooking on a Budget and Ethical Buys. You’ll also have a chance to create and maintain your own windowsill herb garden and a tour of the centre.
The sessions are open to those aged 50+, and will run from 10:30am-3pm with light refreshments and group meal prepared by Maggie and attendees. The event is open to all cooking abilities, so if you’re interested please tell us if you have any dietary requirements or allergies. A suggested donation of £4per person is requested to cover costs for the day. BOOKING ESSENTIAL email email@example.com to book.
